Comedian Tracy Morgan is doing fine after a bout of food poisoning caused him to vomit courtside at Monday night’s Knicks game. The incident, which happened in the second half of the Heat-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, caused a 10-minute delay while crews cleaned the area around Morgan’s seat.
Morgan took to Instagram Tuesday morning to reassure fans, posting a photo from a hospital bed with a smile and a thumbs-up. “I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning,” he wrote, thanking the Madison Square Garden staff for their care – and giving a special shout-out to the cleanup crew.
Never one to miss a comedic opportunity, Morgan joked that his courtside mishap might be a good luck charm for the Knicks, who went on to win 116-95. “The Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court,” he quipped, adding the hashtag #goknicks.
The 56-year-old actor and comedian has been busy lately, appearing at several events for “Saturday Night Live’s” 50th anniversary celebration. He’s also set to star opposite Daniel Radcliffe in a new NBC comedy pilot. Morgan has faced health challenges in the past, including a kidney transplant in 2010 and a serious brain injury following a 2014 traffic accident.
