Elon Musk Claims Life Is in Danger Amidst Federal Agency Cuts and Tesla Backlash

During a Tuesday interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Elon Musk claimed his life was being threatened due to his role in the Trump administration’s drastic cuts to the federal workforce, spearheaded by his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk stated frankly, “They basically want to kill me,” attributing the threats to the cuts DOGE has made. He elaborated, “It turns out when you take away the money they’re receiving fraudulently they get very upset…They basically want to kill me because I’m stopping their fraud and they want to hurt Tesla because we’re stopping this terrible waste and corruption in the government.”

Musk has overseen significant cuts to various federal agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that Musk’s actions regarding USAID were likely unconstitutional, ordering the Trump administration to restore employee access to email and computer systems. The order also prevents DOGE from making further cuts to the agency.

Coinciding with these events, Tesla has faced numerous incidents of vandalism and targeted attacks. Last week, shots were fired at an Oregon dealership, charging stations have been vandalized internationally, and even Tesla owners have been targeted. Four Cybertrucks were also destroyed in a Seattle fire on Sunday, currently under investigation by local and federal authorities.

Amidst these challenges, Tesla’s stock has plummeted, impacting Musk’s net worth. President Trump announced on Tuesday his intention to purchase a new Tesla to show support for Musk.

President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi have called for those attacking Tesla properties and owners to be labeled “domestic terrorists.” Bondi announced on Tuesday that the Justice Department has filed charges against several individuals allegedly involved in these attacks, vowing to continue investigations and pursue severe consequences for those responsible.
