Tesla Owners Targeted in Apparent Doxxing Campaign
A website dubbed “Dogequest” has reportedly published the personal information of Tesla owners across the US. This alleged doxxing incident follows a wave of protests against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his association with former President Donald Trump.
The website claims its goal is to “empower creative expressions of protest.” It reportedly lists names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of Tesla owners, and offers to remove the information if owners provide proof they’ve sold their vehicles. The site also allegedly includes a map showing purported locations of Tesla dealerships and Supercharger stations, along with personal information of employees at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an agency headed by Musk.
The information posted on Dogequest remains unverified.
This incident occurs amidst a backdrop of vandalism and protests targeting Tesla properties and vehicles nationwide. Demonstrators have reportedly expressed anger over Musk’s involvement with the Trump administration and DOGE, which seeks to reduce government waste and fraud. Recent incidents include a shooting at a Tesla dealership in Oregon, arson at several Tesla charging stations in Massachusetts, and protests at dealerships in Michigan and New York City.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a stern warning to those involved in the alleged vandalism, stating that perpetrators could face up to 20 years in prison. Bondi emphasized that authorities are actively investigating these incidents and pursuing both those directly involved and those providing financial support.
