TV Actor Gets Life Sentence for Murder

Additional Coverage:

Actor Isaiah Stokes, known for his roles on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Blue Bloods,” has been sentenced to 25 years to life for the 2021 murder of Tyrone Jones.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced the sentencing, which follows Stokes’ conviction on charges of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Katz stated, “Justice has now been served for the premeditated murder perpetrated by this defendant and he will now spend 25 years to life in prison as a direct consequence of his criminal actions.”

The two-week trial concluded earlier this month, with Katz describing the killing as a “calculated murder” stemming from an earlier altercation between Stokes and Jones at Jones’ birthday party in October 2020. Jones was shot and killed in Queens on February 7, 2021.

Stokes’ acting career began in the mid-2000s with appearances on “Rescue Me.” He later secured roles on various television series, including “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Americans,” “Louie,” and “Blue Bloods.”
