Priscilla Presley Returns to Where She Met Elvis

Additional Coverage:

Priscilla Presley recently revisited Bad Nauheim, Germany, the town where she first met Elvis while he was serving in the U.S. Army and she was a high school student. Her trip coincided with a special show, “An Intimate Evening With Priscilla Presley.”

Presley shared photos and videos from her visit, including images of local Elvis displays featuring photos and memorabilia from his time in Germany. She also expressed her gratitude for the new Elvis statue in Bad Nauheim, saying, “This is very important to me. Being back brings back so many memories of that time.”

Presley’s trip offered a poignant return to a pivotal moment in her life. As a teenager, she moved from Texas to Germany with her stepfather, an Air Force officer. She recalled her classmates’ reactions upon learning of her move: “The teenagers that I knew back in Texas would all say, ‘Oh, you’re going to where Elvis Presley is…'” She added, “I never in my imagination thought that I would meet him.”

Although Elvis left Germany six months after their initial meeting, the pair maintained contact, ultimately leading to Priscilla’s move to Memphis and their marriage in 1967.
