Former Nickelodeon Stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck Reunite, Discuss On-Set Abuse Allegations
In a recent episode of Josh Peck’s podcast, “Good Guys,” the former “Drake & Josh” stars reunited and discussed the disturbing allegations of child abuse on the set of their hit Nickelodeon show, brought to light by the 2024 docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.”
The podcast marked the first time Bell publicly addressed his own experience with alleged abuse by former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck (no relation to Josh Peck). Brian Peck was arrested in 2003 and subsequently convicted of lewd acts with a minor, serving 16 months in prison.
Bell revealed that Brian Peck was present on set during the filming of the “Drake & Josh” pilot, even as the investigation was underway. He shared his anxiety at the time, fearing the situation would jeopardize the show and his friendship with Josh Peck.
Josh Peck expressed his support for Bell, stating that he had only learned the full extent of the abuse through the docuseries. He recounted a vague memory of Brian Peck’s sudden disappearance from the set and a brief conversation with Bell at the time, during which Bell alluded to Brian Peck being a “bad guy.” Peck reflected on the normalization of inappropriate behavior on sets during that era and the lasting impact of such experiences.
The conversation also touched on Bell’s own 2021 controversy involving charges of attempted child endangerment and disseminating harmful material to a minor. While Bell received support after the docuseries aired, his accusers reportedly faced online harassment.
Nickelodeon, in a previous statement, affirmed its commitment to investigating all formal complaints and maintaining a safe workplace, while acknowledging the difficulty of corroborating allegations from decades past.
The second part of Bell and Peck’s podcast conversation is expected to be released Thursday.
