- ‘Price is Right’ contestant falls while spinning the wheel — later returns to the show on crutches (marketrealist.com)
A “Price is Right” contestant’s luck took a turn for the worse when a spin of the iconic wheel resulted in a twisted ankle. Judy, the contestant, spun with enthusiasm, perhaps a little too much enthusiasm, squatting low before tumbling to the ground as she rose. Despite the evident pain, and with a smile on her face, she admitted, “I think I twisted my ankle.”
Her determination to continue was remarkable. When the Showcase round arrived, Judy was back, albeit on crutches.
Host Drew Carey explained the situation to the viewers, noting Judy’s fall and subsequent injury. He assured everyone that she would receive a proper check-up at a nearby hospital after the show.
Judy, ever the competitor, then faced off against her opponent, Kenyati, for a chance to win a trip to Washington D.C. and a brand-new car. While her bid wasn’t close enough to secure the win, her perseverance was admirable. Judy became one of the few “Price is Right” contestants to finish the game after an on-set injury, a testament to her resilience.
The big wheel, while a staple of the show, has claimed other victims. Contestant Renne previously took a tumble, landing flat on her back, thankfully without serious injury.
Another contestant, Dorothy, also experienced a fall after giving the wheel a spin, luckily escaping with just a light stumble. It seems the thrill of the wheel can sometimes lead to unexpected spills.
