Walmart Oatmeal Doesn’t Have What It Says

Walmart’s Great Value Brand Under Fire Again for Misleading Oatmeal Packaging

A TikTok user has called out Walmart’s Great Value brand for allegedly misleading customers about the ingredients in their instant oatmeal. Paden Ferguson, known as @padiano on TikTok, posted a video criticizing the brand for advertising flavors that don’t appear to match the actual contents.

Ferguson points out that the “strawberries and cream” oatmeal contains apple pieces, not strawberries. Similarly, the “peaches and cream” flavor contains peach-flavored apple pieces.

The “lemon creme” oatmeal, he claims, contains no lemon whatsoever. He contrasts this with Quaker Oats’ strawberries and cream oatmeal, which does contain strawberries.

Ferguson questions whether this practice constitutes false advertising.

Other TikTok users chimed in with their own Great Value complaints, including one who alleged that the brand’s marshmallows might contain tilapia. Another commenter pointed out that many of the “fruit juices” are simply apple juice with added flavoring.

This isn’t Ferguson’s first critique of Great Value. He previously called out the brand’s pesto for containing unexpected ingredients like milk, eggs, cashews, pine nuts, and potential traces of seafood.

While some might argue that these ingredients enhance flavor, Ferguson raised concerns about potential allergic reactions, especially for those who don’t carefully examine ingredient lists. The presence of seafood in pesto, he argued, could pose a serious health risk to unsuspecting consumers.
