Declassified CIA documents suggest a psychic may have located the Ark of the Covenant in 1988. The Ark, said to contain the Ten Commandments, was built after the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt, according to religious texts.
In the 1980s, the CIA experimented with psychics to gather intelligence. Although the Ark’s existence remains unverified, declassified Project Sun Streak files indicate a psychic, known as “Remote Viewer No. 032,” described an artifact resembling the Ark hidden in the Middle East.
Given coordinates, the psychic described a nested container of wood, gold, and silver, adorned with a six-winged angel. They also mentioned people speaking Arabic nearby.
This information, recently highlighted on the “Ninjas are Butterflies” podcast, surprised the host, who confirmed its authenticity on the CIA’s website. The psychic was reportedly unaware they were searching for the Ark.
Their detailed descriptions of the environment, people, and location, along with the artifact’s ceremonial and spiritual significance, were considered “bone-chilling.” The psychic claimed the Ark is protected and can only be opened at the appropriate time.
The Ark, believed to have been created around 1445 BC, was housed in Jerusalem’s ancient temple before vanishing during the Babylonian siege in 586 BC. Some believe it was taken to Ethiopia.
Project Sun Streak involved the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency employing psychics, or “remote viewers,” to gather intelligence remotely. These individuals were tasked with various missions, including locating missing persons and fugitives. The possibility that the Ark’s location has been known to the US government for decades adds another layer to this enduring mystery.
