Talk about a nail-biting finish! A contestant named Erica on “The Price is Right” recently won a 7-day vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, but it wasn’t without some drama and a bit of luck.
Erica, a labor and delivery nurse, was playing the Clock Game, where contestants have 30 seconds to guess the prices of two items. First up was a hiking kit, priced at $594.
After several guesses, Erica landed on $595 – one dollar over – just as the clock stopped. Host Drew Carey, noticing the clock had been stopped prematurely, generously gave Erica the win on that item.
With 17 seconds left on the clock, Erica then had to guess the price of five pairs of sunglasses, which were actually priced at $810. The tension mounted as she made her guesses, and just when it seemed all hope was lost, she nailed the exact price at the last possible second!
Carey excitedly declared it a “buzzer beater,” and Erica was understandably overjoyed. Online, viewers praised Carey’s sportsmanship in awarding the first prize despite the technical error, and many expressed their amazement at Erica’s clutch performance. It seems like this lucky nurse’s vacation is well-deserved!
