Pop Superstar Taylor Swift’s Absence From iHeartRadio Music Awards Sparks Speculation

Taylor Swift, known for her love of award shows, was a surprising no-show at last month’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. While she won big, taking home trophies for Artist of the Year, Tour of the Century, Favorite Surprise Guest, Favorite Tour Style, Favorite Tour Tradition, Best Music Video, and Favorite On-Screen Performance, Swift accepted the accolades via pre-recorded video.

Although scheduling conflicts could have prevented her attendance, some fans believe Swift’s absence was due to the event’s host, comedian Nikki Glaser. While Glaser is a self-proclaimed “Swiftie” and even attended multiple Eras Tour shows, past comments she made about Swift have resurfaced, raising eyebrows.

In 2016, Glaser made critical remarks about Swift’s appearance, stating, “She’s too skinny. It bothers me.”

She also commented on Swift’s friendships with models, implying they were chosen based on their body types. These comments are particularly sensitive given Swift’s public discussion about her past struggles with an eating disorder, detailed in her 2020 documentary, Miss Americana.

In the film, Swift revealed how comments about her body image negatively impacted her.

Given this history, some fans speculate that Swift chose not to attend the awards show to avoid an encounter with Glaser.
