Florida Native Charity Nelms Reflects on Survivor 48 Exit
After being the sixth person voted off Survivor 48, Charity Nelms, a Florida native, opened up about her experience on the show. The latest episode featured a dramatic “fake merge” Tribal Council, where twelve castaways faced elimination. While Sai Hughley survived the vote, a rogue vote for Cedrek McFadden hints at potential future chaos.
Charity was surprised to learn, while watching the show, that fellow castaway Eva Erickson had perceived her as “fake.” This revelation shed light on why some players weren’t supporting her.
“I was shocked that she called me fake,” Charity said in a recent interview. “Never in my life have I been accused of being fake because I am too real, and it gets me in trouble, clearly!”
She emphasized that her interactions with Eva had always felt authentic.
Charity also believes that Eva’s emotional reveal about her autism, and a subsequent show of support from other castaways, made others hesitant to vote her out. While acknowledging the touching moment, Charity felt it shouldn’t impact gameplay.
“That was a human moment. But we are also playing the game now, and to treat her differently because of that, I personally don’t think is fair,” she explained.
Charity suspected that others agreed with her assessment of Eva as a threat, especially since Eva possessed an advantage, but were afraid to vote her out.
