Chili’s “3 for Me” Menu: A Solid Bet for a Satisfying Meal?

A recent trip to a local Chili’s restaurant had me feeling like I was settling in for a comfortable 90s Tom Hanks movie – a reliable choice for a pleasant experience. I decided to put the “3 for Me” meal specials to the test. These deals, priced at $11, $15, and $17, offer a beverage, starter, and entrée.

My order spanned the menu, allowing me to sample all three appetizers: chips and salsa, a house salad, and a cup of potato soup. The chips were fresh and crunchy, accompanied by flavorful salsa.

The salad, while tasty with a good balance of ingredients and a tangy thousand island dressing, was served in a frustratingly deep and narrow bowl that made eating without spilling a challenge. The real winner was the potato soup, rich and generously loaded with bacon, green onions, and cheese.

I could have easily enjoyed a larger portion.

For my entrées, I chose the Oldtimer with cheese burger ($11 tier), the crispy chicken sandwich ($11 tier), and the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas ($15 tier). The Oldtimer burger was a pleasant surprise.

Served on a soft bun with the usual fixings, the well-assembled burger and accompanying fries hit the spot. The patty, cooked smash-style, was flavorful, and the ingredients worked together harmoniously.

The chicken sandwich also proved a good value. The crispy chicken was perfectly cooked, and the brioche bun provided a soft counterpoint.

While the pickles were a bit overpowering for my taste, pickle lovers will likely enjoy this sandwich. Unfortunately, the quesadillas fell short.

Despite a promising presentation, the wedges were limp and rubbery, with the cheese dominating the flavor profile. I couldn’t discern much chicken or bacon, and even the accompanying sour cream, pico de gallo, and ranch dressing couldn’t save the dish.

Overall, the “3 for Me” deal offers good value, especially at the $11 price point. The burger and chicken sandwich meals were both filling and satisfying, thanks in part to the generous serving of fries.

The appetizers, with the exception of the awkward salad bowl, were enjoyable. While I’m eager to explore other options on the “3 for Me” menu, I’ll likely steer clear of the quesadillas in the future.
