Chrissy Metz, known for her role on This Is Us and her advocacy for body positivity, has been candid about her 100-pound weight loss journey. The actress recently discussed her fitness regimen, her views on weight loss drugs, and her new children’s book.

Metz, who earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Kate Pearson on the hit NBC drama, has long been a champion for positive body image. While acknowledging the cyberbullying she has faced, Metz emphasizes that her focus is on strength and overall health, not just aesthetics.

In a recent interview, Metz revealed that consistent strength training has been key to her weight loss. “I have always enjoyed lifting weights,” she stated, adding that she prefers strength training to cardio.

Working with a trainer in Nashville, she focuses on positive reinforcement and shared goals. Concerned about age-related health issues like arthritis and osteoporosis, Metz is determined to “age the best way that I can.”

Metz also addressed the use of weight loss drugs like Ozempic. While not taking a definitive stance, she stressed the personal nature of such decisions.

“It’s people’s personal decision to decide what it is that they want to do for their body,” she explained. “Ultimately, at the end of the day, we all just want to feel good and feel good about ourselves.”

The actress believes in allowing individuals to make their own choices, provided they aren’t harming themselves or others.

Continuing her message of positivity and self-expression, Metz recently released her second children’s book, “When I Talk To God, I Talk About Feelings.” The book encourages children to explore and express their emotions through faith.
