Montecito Mystery: Just How Neighborly Are Harry and Meghan?

Since trading the UK for the California sun, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have maintained a relatively low profile in their Montecito community. While some neighbors claim the couple are rarely seen, others contend the Sussexes are actively engaged in local life.

One neighbor, Navy veteran Frank McGinity, claims he’s barely glimpsed the couple since their arrival. He even attempted a neighborly gesture, offering them DVDs about Montecito’s history, but was reportedly turned away at their gate. McGinity expressed surprise to the Montecito Journal that the couple chose the area, known for attracting an older demographic.

However, actress and fellow Montecito resident Sharon Stone paints a different picture. She describes the couple as a “giving, caring, participating part of our community.” Stone even recounted an anecdote of a friend’s chance encounter with the couple, bicycling through the neighborhood and offering a friendly wave.

Despite varying accounts of their local involvement, Harry and Meghan seem to have settled comfortably into their Montecito home. A recent social media post from Meghan showcased the Duchess enjoying her garden and the California sunshine, suggesting they’re embracing the laid-back lifestyle the area offers. It seems the question of just how involved the Sussexes are in their community remains a topic of local discussion.
