- Prince William and Kate Middleton Spent Easter With Her Family After Skipping Royal Service: Report (usmagazine.com)
The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, opted for a low-key Easter celebration this year, skipping the traditional royal family gathering at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
Instead, the couple and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, attended a Sunday service at a church in Sandringham near their country home, Anmer Hall. They were joined by Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
The family reportedly left the service through a back entrance, avoiding the crowd of onlookers gathered outside.
While the Wales family enjoyed a private Easter, King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the royal contingent at St. George’s Chapel.
They were joined by Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and his wife, Duchess Sophie, along with their son, James, Earl of Wessex. Prince Andrew also attended the service with his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and their respective husbands.
This marks the second year that William and Kate have chosen to forgo the royal Easter service. Last year, their absence was attributed to health reasons, but this year’s decision has reportedly raised eyebrows within the palace. Some sources see it as a break from tradition and perhaps even a deliberate snub.
