Nantes, France – A 15-year-old student was arrested Thursday after a stabbing attack at Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides High School left one student dead and three others injured. The attack occurred during the lunch break. Teachers bravely subdued the assailant before police arrived at the scene.
Education Minister Elisabeth Borne and Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau traveled to Nantes to express their support for the school community and the victims of the attack.
According to Reuters, police have stated there is no indication of a terrorist motive. Students at the school reported receiving an email from the attacker earlier in the day, detailing unspecified grievances. The attacker was reportedly dressed entirely in black, wearing a helmet and balaclava.
