Years before Wednesday’s arrival, Grint expressed his desire to start a family in a 2018 interview, even pondering the possibility of naming a son Ron. He later reflected on the life-altering experience of fatherhood in a 2021 interview, noting personal changes like quitting smoking and his willingness to support his daughter if she pursued acting, albeit with a touch of “stage mum” enthusiasm.
