Rapper 50 Cent Adds Fuel to Beyoncé Ticket Sales Speculation

Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour kicks off Monday night at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, but not all seats are filled. TMZ reported nearly 3,800 tickets remain available for the opening night, ranging from $47 to $331. Resale tickets are reportedly as low as $20.

50 Cent didn’t miss the opportunity to comment. Sharing a screenshot of the TMZ report on Instagram, the rapper added, “👀 sh– getting real out here, 🤔 hey the tickets ain’t selling.”

Fans chimed in with their own theories, blaming high ticket prices, the struggling economy, and a crowded concert calendar with tours from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, and Mary J. Blige.

The “Cowboy Carter” tour continues with U.S. dates in Chicago, East Rutherford, New Jersey, Houston, Landover, Maryland, and Atlanta, before heading overseas to London and Paris, concluding in Las Vegas on July 26.

The current low ticket prices have frustrated fans who purchased pre-sale tickets in February at significantly higher prices, highlighting ongoing concerns about escalating ticket costs and the role of resale markets.

The tour follows Beyoncé’s massively successful “Renaissance” tour, which grossed $579 million as of August 2023, making it her highest-grossing tour to date. The “Cowboy Carter” tour supports the album of the same name, a country-infused project inspired by an undisclosed past experience where Beyoncé felt unwelcome in the genre.

In a March Instagram post, Beyoncé described the album as a result of “challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together.” Many believe this refers to the 2016 Country Music Awards, where her performance of “Daddy Lessons” with The Chicks drew criticism.

Despite the initial controversy, “Cowboy Carter” earned Beyoncé her first Album of the Year award and a Best Country Album win at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The tour’s ultimate success remains to be seen.
