Pop star Katy Perry has addressed online criticism following her recent 11-minute flight to space with Blue Origin. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Perry thanked her fans for their support, saying, “We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together.” She acknowledged the backlash, stating she’s “doing ok” and has “done a lot of work around knowing who I am.”

Perry’s post, which featured a fan tribute in Times Square, went on to discuss how she handles negativity: “When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love…What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth.”

The singer, who recently kicked off her “Lifetimes” tour, flew to space on April 14th as part of an all-female crew on Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission. The crew included notable figures like Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, and journalist Gayle King.

Upon her return, an emotional Perry described the experience as second only to motherhood. She shared that the trip reinforced her connection to love and allowed her to “model courage and worthiness and fearlessness.”

While the flight was a personal highlight for Perry, it drew criticism for its short duration and high cost. Undeterred, Perry seemingly addressed the naysayers during her tour’s opening night, asking the audience, “Has anyone ever called your dreams crazy?” She then invited two fans dressed in spacesuits onto the stage.
