Doocy Gets New Role on Fox & Friends

Longtime “Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy is stepping back from his daily hosting duties after nearly 30 years of early morning wake-up calls. Doocy announced on Thursday’s show that he’s not retiring or leaving the program, but transitioning to a new role.

“After decades of getting up at 3:30 a.m., it’s time for a change,” Doocy explained. He will now host the show three days a week and work remotely from Florida, reporting from various locations across the country.

Doocy expressed his excitement about spending more time with his family, a luxury his demanding schedule previously prevented. “When my kids were growing up, I never had breakfast with them,” he shared. “Starting tomorrow, I’m going to have breakfast with my grandkids and my children whenever I can.”

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, whom Doocy calls a friend, collaborated with him on this new arrangement. He’ll continue to be a part of “Fox & Friends” while enjoying a more flexible schedule.

Former President Donald Trump even offered his congratulations to Doocy, praising his fair coverage over the years and acknowledging his contribution to the show’s success. Trump called Doocy a “fantastic guy” and thanked him for his “service” to the program.

Doocy, who joined Fox News Channel in 1996 and became a “Fox & Friends” co-host two years later, plans to take some time off with his family before beginning his new role.
