Former First Lady Hillary Clinton’s recent public appearances have sparked renewed speculation about possible cosmetic procedures. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, dined at the popular West Village restaurant, Via Carota, on Wednesday evening.
The couple waved and smiled to a small crowd gathered outside the restaurant, who greeted them with applause. Photos from the evening show a seemingly ageless Hillary, while Bill appeared to show his 78 years.
Rumors of cosmetic enhancements have followed Hillary for years, with some speculating she had work done prior to her 2016 presidential campaign. Journalist Edward Klein, in his book Unlikeable: The Problem with Hillary, claims Bill encouraged her to get a facelift before her run for office, even suggesting that while she couldn’t turn back time, she could address the lines and sagging skin on her face. Klein further alleges that Hillary had a “mini-operating room” set up in their Chappaqua home to undergo procedures on her cheeks, eyes, neck, and forehead.
Now, some are suggesting Hillary’s latest refreshed appearance points to a possible second facelift, given that the effects typically last about a decade. Klein’s book suggests Hillary may have had additional touch-ups, including Botox and further refinements to her eyes, neck, and forehead. He quotes a confidant of Hillary’s as saying she took a gradual approach to the procedures, evaluating the changes as she went.
Even before Wednesday’s sighting, Hillary’s appearance on a 2019 Broadway outing drew attention. At the time, specialists suggested to the Daily Mail that her smoother skin could be the result of Botox and possibly blepharoplasty (an eye lift).
Dr. Ross Perry commented that Hillary looked fantastic and suggested her appearance was likely due to regular “tweakments” over time, creating a less dramatic change than a single, major procedure.
He noted her particularly smooth forehead as a possible indicator of Botox.
