A Rochester, Minnesota woman filmed using racial slurs at a playground is now the recipient of hundreds of thousands of dollars in online donations. The incident unfolded when Shiloh Hendrix was confronted by a man recording her after she allegedly called a five-year-old child the “N-word.”

The video, which quickly went viral, shows Hendrix repeating the slur multiple times while arguing with the man. She claimed the child, who reportedly has autism, took her son’s belongings.

Following the video’s widespread circulation, Hendrix launched a crowdfunding campaign on GiveSendGo, alleging that her personal information had been leaked and she had received threats. The campaign, titled “Help Me Protect My Family,” has already surpassed $413,000 of its $1 million goal.

Donors have expressed a range of opinions, with some condemning her language while others defend her actions. One donor, who contributed $10,000, simply wrote, “enough.”

Another donor, giving $1,500, wrote: “If White people don’t stand up for each other, no one will stand up for us. They gave half a million to Austin Metcalfe’s killer, let’s protect a woman who stood up to a Somalian pervert.”

Meanwhile, the Rochester Branch NAACP has initiated a separate GoFundMe campaign for the child and his family. The campaign aims to raise $250,000 and has currently received over $128,000. The organization stated it is “standing up for this child, his family, and every member of our community who deserves to live free from racist violence and intimidation.”

The Rochester Parks and Recreation department acknowledged the “deeply disturbing video” and affirmed its commitment to inclusive public spaces. The Rochester Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
