Blake Lively Opens Up About Tumultuous Year Amid Ongoing Legal Battles

Actress Blake Lively recently described the past year as a rollercoaster of “highest highs and lowest lows” during a Thursday appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” While promoting her new film, “Another Simple Favor,” Lively alluded to ongoing legal struggles, saying she felt fortunate to be able to speak out, while acknowledging that many others don’t have that opportunity. She credited other women who have spoken up as a source of strength during a difficult time.

Lively’s comments come amidst a complex legal battle with actor and director Justin Baldoni stemming from their work on the film “It Ends With Us.” Lively has filed suit against Baldoni and his production company alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.

In turn, Baldoni has filed a defamation suit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, seeking $400 million in damages. He alleges the couple and their team attempted to sabotage his film and career.

Both parties have denied the allegations against them. In recent weeks, both Lively and Reynolds have filed motions to dismiss Baldoni’s defamation suit.
