Queen Latifah Thanks The Equalizer Fans After CBS Cancellation
After five seasons, CBS has cancelled The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah. The network cited upcoming programming changes for the fall schedule as the reason for the cancellation.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Latifah expressed gratitude to fans, calling them “loyal, loud, and ride-or-die.” She also thanked the cast, crew, writers, and producers.
Latifah, who played Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative turned vigilante, described the role as “everything I hoped it would be.” She and her production company, Flavor Unit, aim to bring similar projects to life in the future.
Although disappointed by the cancellation, Latifah promised fans she would “be back kicking a– in something new real soon.”
The cancellation, announced just two days before the season five finale, leaves the show without a planned final episode, raising questions about the conclusion fans will see.
The Equalizer is just one of several shows CBS has cancelled for the 2025/2026 season. Poppa’s House was cancelled after only one season, and both FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International are ending their runs. However, CBS is adding a new spin-off to its lineup, CIA.
