Glendale, Arizona – A Sunday night shooting at El Camaron Gigante restaurant has left three dead and five injured. The incident, which occurred during a concert and car show, stemmed from a fight that began inside the venue and spilled into the parking lot.
City officials have confirmed the deceased are a 17-year-old and two 21-year-olds, two of whom were brothers. The injured include two women, ages 20 and 21; two men, ages 20 and 23; and a 16-year-old boy.
The teenager underwent surgery and is expected to fully recover. Injuries resulted from both gunshots and shrapnel.
Authorities have stated the shooting was an isolated incident involving individuals known to each other. Between 200 and 300 people were in attendance at the time of the shooting.
Several individuals have been detained for questioning, but no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the number of shooters and the types of weapons used.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police spokesperson Moroni Mendez described the scene as “enormous” and emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation.
No officers or security personnel discharged their weapons during the incident. One bystander recounted a chaotic scene with people yelling and a man lying unresponsive on the ground.
