Whoopi Goldberg Stuns at Met Gala, Showcasing 100-Pound Weight Loss

Whoopi Goldberg made a grand entrance at this year’s Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5th. The 69-year-old EGOT winner turned heads in a striking monochrome Thom Browne custom dress, complete with an embroidered white sequin overcoat and a wool bouclé top hat from Browne’s Fall 2015 collection.

Gold finger caps by L’Enchanteur added a final, eye-catching touch. Goldberg’s ensemble not only highlighted her recent 100-pound weight loss but also perfectly embodied the Costume Exhibit’s theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.’

Fans on social media were quick to praise the Sister Act star’s look. Many lauded her interpretation of the theme, with comments ranging from “Living Legend” and “She’s stunning” to “Nailed it” and “She looks FABULOUS!!

Girlfriend understood the assignment!” Another fan enthusiastically declared, “Whoopi ate this up!”

Goldberg has been open about her weight loss journey, crediting the medication Mounjaro. In a past episode of The View, she and guest Jim Gaffigan discussed their experiences with weight loss medications. Echoing Gaffigan’s sentiment about the effectiveness of the injections, Goldberg confirmed her own use of Mounjaro.

Last May, on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Goldberg also praised the medication, stating that it had been “really good” for her. She revealed that she had lost “almost two people” worth of weight, humorously acknowledging that such a dramatic transformation would inevitably spark questions.
