Conservationist Bindi Irwin was forced to miss the Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 10, after undergoing an emergency appendectomy earlier that day. Her mother, Terri Irwin, was also absent from the event.

While the Irwin family was in Las Vegas for the annual gala celebrating the legacy of Steve Irwin, Bindi’s brother, Robert Irwin, informed attendees of her sudden illness. He described the situation to the audience, saying her appendix had “exploded” and commended his sister’s strength.

Just the day before, the Irwin family appeared in good spirits, posing for photos in their signature khaki attire. Bindi even shared a picture on social media expressing excitement for the gala. She also posted photos with her mother earlier on Saturday, showing no indication of any health issues.

While details surrounding Bindi’s condition remain limited, Robert assured attendees that she is recovering well.
