Diddy Faces Life in Prison as Trial Starts

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s criminal trial is set to begin opening arguments on Monday. Combs faces charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering, and could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted. He has previously pleaded not guilty.

Jury selection, which experienced a delay on May 9, will be finalized Monday morning, with the final 12 jurors being chosen from a pool of 43. Judge Arun Subramanian indicated jurors are expected to arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Combs is represented by a formidable legal team, including Marc Agnifilo, known for his defense of NXIVM leader Keith Raniere, and attorneys Teny Geragos, Alexandra Shapiro, and Brian Steel, who previously represented rapper Young Thug. The team also includes Xavier Donaldson, Anna Estevao, Linda Moreno, and Jason Driscoll. Combs is currently being held in a Brooklyn federal facility.
