Singer Jennifer Lopez suffered a minor facial injury during rehearsals for the American Music Awards. She shared the news with fans on social media Tuesday, posting a photo of herself icing her eye with the caption, “So this happened…”
A subsequent selfie revealed a small cut on the bridge of her nose and some discoloration around her eye. Thankfully, the injury doesn’t appear to be serious.
Lopez shared a third photo with plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, thanking him for stitching her up and adding that after a week of icing, she’s “good as new.”
It’s still unclear what caused the incident.
The American Music Awards, which Lopez is hosting, are scheduled for May 26th. While the singer recovers, fans can rest assured that she’ll be ready to take the stage later this month. This incident comes after Lopez’s recent divorce from actor Ben Affleck, which was finalized in January.
