Singer and actress Halle Bailey Seeks Custody of Son, Accuses Rapper DDG of Abuse
Halle Bailey, the 25-year-old star of “The Little Mermaid,” has filed for sole legal and physical custody of her son, Halo Saint Granberry, whom she shares with rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., 27). A judge granted Bailey a temporary restraining order against DDG on Tuesday.
In the petition, Bailey accuses DDG of harassment, physical and verbal abuse, and online defamation. She alleges that DDG has repeatedly “badmouthed” her to his online followers, falsely accusing her of infidelity and withholding their son.
Bailey claims she has attempted to establish a consistent visitation schedule, but DDG has refused to cooperate. She further alleges that he has threatened to withhold child support, despite never having paid any.
Bailey and DDG’s two-year relationship ended in 2024, after the birth of their son in December 2023. Bailey claims the split was due to DDG’s “temper and lack of respect,” alleging that incidents of physical abuse began before their son’s birth.
The petition details several specific incidents, including a January altercation during which Bailey claims DDG pulled her hair and slammed her face against a steering wheel, chipping her tooth. She also alleges that DDG entered her home without permission in March, an incident she says was captured on her Ring doorbell camera.
In a separate incident, Bailey claims DDG unplugged her Ring camera and locked her out of her house after she refused to let him take their son, who was ill with RSV at the time. Most recently, Bailey alleges that DDG accused her of infidelity while she was on a Mother’s Day vacation with her sister and son.
Bailey states that while she wants her son to maintain a relationship with DDG’s family, she believes DDG should be more actively involved in his son’s care, rather than leaving him with his mother for extended periods. Expressing her desire for a stable and safe environment for her son, Bailey stated, “I cannot keep living like this.”
