OJ’s Bronco Drives onto Pawn Stars

Additional Coverage:

The infamous white Ford Bronco, forever linked to O.J. Simpson’s 1994 slow-speed chase, recently rolled into the world-famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, as seen on the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars.” Mike Gilbert, Simpson’s former agent and owner of the Bronco, hoped to strike a deal with Rick Harrison.

Upon seeing the vehicle, Harrison, along with Chumlee, expressed his astonishment, acknowledging the Bronco’s unique place in history. Gilbert explained his reasoning for selling the SUV, hoping to provide for his children with the proceeds.

He recounted how he acquired the Bronco from A.C. Cowlings, the driver during the chase, preventing its exploitation by tour companies.

Gilbert emphasized the Bronco’s historical significance, claiming it was the second most-viewed vehicle globally, after the car in which President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. He highlighted the car’s original condition, including its low mileage and intact license plate holder.

After a test drive, during which Gilbert shared his own experience trailing the Bronco during the chase, the pivotal moment arrived. Gilbert’s asking price?

A staggering $1.3 million. While Gilbert justified the price by citing the Bronco’s unparalleled notoriety, Harrison balked.

Even after a slight price reduction to $1.25 million, Harrison ultimately declined, deeming the investment too risky. Gilbert remained firm, stating he wouldn’t accept anything less than $1 million for this piece of history.

This time, at least, no deal was made.
