Ice Cream Alert! Plastic Found in Blue Bunny and Halo Top Products
Wells Enterprises, the maker of Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice cream, has voluntarily recalled nearly 18,000 three-gallon tubs of ice cream and frozen yogurt due to potential plastic contamination. The recall, issued on April 25th, affects 22 different flavors distributed to over 100 locations across several states, including Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas. The affected products have “Use By” dates ranging from March 2026 to October 2026.
The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating that consumption could cause temporary or reversible health problems. Consumers are advised to check the FDA report for a complete list of recalled products and identifying information. Wells Enterprises has not yet issued a public statement regarding the recall.
