Musk Confirms Commitment to Tesla, Hints at Future Starlink IPO

Doha, Qatar – Tesla CEO Elon Musk reassured investors this week, confirming his intention to remain at the helm of the electric vehicle company. During an interview at the Qatar Economic Forum, Musk responded to questions about his future with a touch of humor, stating he plans to stay CEO “unless I die.”

Addressing recent concerns about his divided attention between Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, and his recent government role leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk asserted that Tesla has already rebounded from a period of softening demand. While Europe remains a challenging market, he expressed confidence in the company’s global performance.

Musk also hinted at a potential future public offering for Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX. He emphasized the company’s rapid global expansion, particularly in emerging markets and disaster-stricken areas, but noted there’s no immediate pressure for an IPO.

In a departure from his past political involvement, Musk indicated he plans to significantly reduce his political spending, stating he feels he’s “done enough.” He left open the possibility of future spending if warranted, but currently sees no reason to do so.

Finally, Musk touched on the subject of artificial intelligence, advocating for balanced regulation of the burgeoning sector. He highlighted xAI’s growing data center capacity, including the “Colossus” supercomputer in Memphis, Tennessee, which the company claims is the world’s largest.
