Sofia Vergara Hints at Financial Resentment in Joe Manganiello Divorce
In a recent interview on NBC’s Today with Jenna & Friends, Sofia Vergara may have revealed more than she intended about her divorce from Joe Manganiello. While discussing her ideal future partner, the Modern Family star stated a preference for someone “who has as much money as me or more, because if not, it’s a nightmare.
They end up resenting you.” This comment has led some to speculate about financial resentment playing a role in the couple’s split.
Vergara and Manganiello, who were married for nearly a decade, announced their divorce last year. Initial reports suggested the split was amicable and stemmed from differing views on having children.
Vergara, already a mother to a 33-year-old son, expressed her reluctance to have more children at her age. Manganiello, however, reportedly desired biological children.
While Vergara’s recent comments hint at potential financial tensions, both parties have offered varying accounts of the separation. In previous interviews, Vergara cited her age and desire to avoid being an “old mom” as the primary reason for the split, while Manganiello alluded to a more complex situation, stating simply that the two had “grown apart.” He also refuted claims that he had given Vergara an ultimatum regarding children.
Vergara also shared that she is looking for a partner who is “tall, handsome, healthy,” and, importantly, “fun.” After a brief relationship following her divorce, she is now taking a more measured approach to dating. “I’m not really in a hurry anymore,” she confessed.
