Wrestling Legend Mick Foley Appraises Own Memorabilia on “Pawn Stars”

A recent episode of “Pawn Stars” featured a surprise appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, called in to authenticate his own wrestling memorabilia. The items, a “Mankind” mask and “Dude Love” t-shirt, were brought in by a seller hoping to make a deal with Rick Harrison.

Harrison, needing expert verification, enlisted the help of Chumlee, who recognized the items as representing two of Foley’s iconic wrestling personas. Chumlee explained the history of Foley’s characters, from his early days as Cactus Jack to his WWE debut as Mankind, the masked, “dark character.” He also highlighted Foley’s Dude Love persona, emphasizing the wrestler’s willingness to push boundaries.

The seller, Scott, was asking $200 for the mask and $300 for the t-shirt. While Chumlee recognized the significance of the items, Harrison needed further authentication. In a surprising turn of events, Chumlee contacted Foley himself, who arrived at the shop, much to Scott’s astonishment.

Foley confirmed the mask was a replica, though he had signed and inscribed it. The t-shirt, however, proved to be a rare find. Foley explained it was an early design, featuring a distinctive tie-dye pattern that was difficult to reproduce, making it a legitimate piece of wrestling history.

Despite authenticating the memorabilia, Foley couldn’t put a price on it. Harrison offered Scott $200 for both items, later increasing it to $210.

However, meeting Foley proved invaluable for Scott, who ultimately decided to keep the memorabilia. “The fact that I got to meet Mick Foley today,” Scott explained, “that’s worth just me keeping it.”

The experience proved to be more valuable than any potential profit.
