Beloved Today show host Hoda Kotb returned to the studio this week, not as a host, but as a guest, much to the delight of viewers. Her appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends marked her first time back on set since her departure in January.
The reunion with former co-host Jenna Bush Hager was heartwarming, filled with laughter and a few tears. Jenna admitted to being overcome with emotion, saying, “I knew this was going to happen.
I told [my producer] I was going to cry before I even opened my mouth.” Hoda, in turn, praised Jenna’s performance as the show’s primary host.
The two friends quickly fell back into their familiar rhythm, reminiscing about their time together and discussing Hoda’s new ventures.
Hoda, who spent 18 years with Today, stepped away from the demanding schedule to spend more time with her children. While she’s made occasional behind-the-scenes visits to the studio, this on-screen appearance allowed her to reconnect with her former colleagues and viewers.
The primary focus of Hoda’s visit was to promote her new lifestyle and wellness app, Joy 101. Described as a “retreat in your pocket,” the app offers personalized wellness advice and courses from experts. Beyond promoting her app, Hoda also took the opportunity to catch up with other Today show personalities like Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker.
Clips of Hoda’s return quickly circulated on social media, generating an outpouring of support from fans. Many expressed their joy at seeing her back on set, praising her positive energy and wishing her well in her new endeavors.
Comments on the show’s Instagram account included messages such as “This made my day!” and “I’m so happy for you, Hoda, that you are following your heart.”
Joy 101 is currently available for pre-order and will officially launch on June 11th. While Hoda clearly enjoyed her return to the Today show, she reassured everyone that she’s thriving in this new chapter of her career.
