Country music star Lorrie Morgan is mourning the loss of her husband, Randy White, who died of cancer on Sunday, June 1st. He was 72 years old. Morgan, 65, shared a heartfelt statement through her manager, expressing the devastation of her family and remembering White as her “partner and rock” for 17 years.
Morgan’s son, Jesse Keith Whitley, also a country singer, paid tribute to his stepfather on Facebook, recalling White’s unwavering love and support for his family. He described White as a “gentle soul” and the “best grandfather” his children could have asked for.
This marks the second time Morgan has experienced the loss of a husband. In 1989, her husband and fellow country artist Keith Whitley, Jesse’s father, tragically died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 34.
Morgan had canceled her upcoming concerts and appearances after White was hospitalized in April. She had previously announced his cancer diagnosis a year earlier, asking for privacy and support for her family during that difficult time.
