“Pawn Stars” Deals with WWE Memorabilia: Triumph and Trickery

The History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” regularly sees interesting wrestling memorabilia come through its doors. Recently, the show featured two very different scenarios involving WWE items, one a heartwarming reunion and the other a close call with a counterfeit collectible.

In the first instance, Chumlee, known for his love of wrestling, spotted a pair of wrestling trunks brought in by a couple hoping to sell them for $1,800. After some negotiation, Rick and Chumlee purchased the trunks for $1,000.

Later, Chumlee revealed a surprise guest: WWE superstar Titus O’Neil, the trunks’ original owner! O’Neil was thrilled to be reunited with his prized possession.

In a gesture of goodwill, O’Neil promised the “Pawn Stars” crew a dinner in exchange for the return of his trunks.

However, not every wrestling item brought to the shop is legitimate. In another episode, a seller presented a vintage Kamala action figure, asking $7,500.

Chumlee, recognizing the figure’s potential value, noticed inconsistencies with the packaging. Calling in an expert, Chumlee’s suspicions were confirmed: the figure was a skillfully crafted fake.

The expert pointed out several telltale signs, including glue discrepancies, traces of a removed price sticker, and an uneven paint texture. The seller, who had purchased the figure at an estate sale, was unaware of its inauthenticity.

Thanks to Chumlee’s keen eye and the expert’s analysis, the shop avoided a costly mistake. This incident highlights the importance of expert authentication when dealing with valuable collectibles.
