Miley Cyrus Still “Into” Ex Nick Jonas

Additional Coverage:

Pop star Miley Cyrus recently reminisced about her teenage romance with Nick Jonas, offering a playful and mature perspective on their long-ago relationship. Speaking on the Every Single Album podcast, Cyrus, now 32, stated that there are no hard feelings between her and the Jonas Brothers star, despite their difficult breakup nearly two decades ago.

“I like Nick. I’m into him,” she shared, before acknowledging his marriage to Priyanka Chopra and their daughter, adding, “He’s married with children.

We’re all moving on. Everything is good in the world.”

She even gave a nod to their former couple nickname, quipping, “Niley for life.”

Cyrus, who dated Jonas between 2006 and 2007, with a brief reconnection in 2009, admitted that the split left her heartbroken. She confirmed that her songs “7 Things” and “Before the Storm” were inspired by their relationship.

On the podcast, she revealed that the breakup was mutual, but partly stemmed from Jonas’s decision to tour with his band instead of having her as his opening act. “He was, like, separating himself from the Disney thing, and I wanted him to take me on the tour,” she explained.

The singer also touched upon her 2009 autobiography, Miles To Go, where she referred to Jonas as “Prince Charming.” Despite the heartbreak, she portrayed him favorably in the book.

She joked about the editing process, suggesting that while her initial reaction might have been harsher, the published version was toned down. Even now, she lightheartedly teased that Jonas is “still catching strays” from the long-ago breakup.

Since their split, both Cyrus and Jonas have moved on. Cyrus’s romantic history includes relationships with Liam Hemsworth, Kaitlynn Carter, and Cody Simpson, before finding her current partner, Maxx Morando. Jonas and Chopra married in 2018 and welcomed their daughter via surrogate in 2021.
