Actor’s Movie Script Causes Airport Scare

Additional Coverage:

Actor Benicio del Toro recently shared a humorous anecdote about a run-in with TSA agents at Boston’s Logan Airport. The incident, recounted on Late Night with Seth Meyers, stemmed from the large-print script del Toro was carrying for Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme.

The script’s opening scenes – describing a bomb on a plane, followed by the ejection of the pilot and a subsequent crash – understandably caught the attention of security personnel. Several agents scrutinized the script, and while del Toro explained it was for a film, his celebrity status didn’t immediately expedite the process.

The situation was eventually resolved when a supervisor, who seemed to recognize del Toro from films like Sicario or Traffic, allowed him to proceed. Del Toro praised the TSA agents’ diligence, acknowledging their responsibility to take potential threats seriously.

Host Seth Meyers echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of thorough security checks, even for Hollywood stars. Del Toro jokingly referred to the alarming script details as a mere “checklist” for the film.
