Queen Camilla Sidesteps Royal Family Drama

Queen Camilla is reportedly steering clear of the ongoing feud between King Charles and Prince Harry. A source revealed to People that Camilla is intentionally avoiding the drama between her husband and his youngest son. This follows Prince Harry’s BBC interview in May, where he claimed his father and brother, Prince William, refuse to communicate with him, hindering any hopes of reconciliation.

Adding fuel to the fire, a royal insider told Us Weekly that the royal family’s trust in Harry has eroded, fearing any interaction with King Charles would become fodder for the American press. This concern arose after Prince Harry’s legal battle for U.K. security for his family was unsuccessful. Harry suggested his father could have influenced the outcome of the security issue, which stemmed from the government withdrawing their protection after Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

The rift between father and son reportedly deepened after the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare. In the book, Harry detailed his and Prince William’s initial reluctance towards their father’s marriage to Camilla, recalling their complicated feelings about their stepmother.

He expressed concerns about Camilla’s potential treatment of him and revealed his brother’s long-held suspicions regarding “the Other Woman.” Harry even admitted to hoping Camilla’s happiness might lessen any perceived threat.

Further straining the relationship, Harry accused both Charles and Camilla of leaking information about his past drug use to the press and planting a story about his brother, sister-in-law, and their children. He expanded on these allegations in a 60 Minutes interview, describing a transactional exchange of information within the royal family and Camilla’s role in this dynamic.
