Pop Superstar Taylor Swift Seeks Protection from Alleged Stalker

Singer Taylor Swift has filed for a restraining order against a Colorado man, Brian Jason Wagner, 45, citing months of alleged harassment and stalking. Swift claims Wagner has repeatedly shown up at her Los Angeles residences, falsely claiming a relationship with her and causing her significant emotional distress.

According to Swift’s court filing, Wagner’s unwanted visits began in July 2024, with at least three incidents that month alone. During one encounter, Wagner allegedly carried a glass bottle, raising concerns about his potential for violence. Swift asserts that Wagner made delusional statements about living at her property, being in a relationship with her, and even being the father of her child.

The alleged harassment continued last month with two more visits to her Los Angeles home. A background check revealed Wagner had been incarcerated in 2023, during which time he allegedly bombarded Swift with messages detailing his infatuation and making false claims about their relationship. A member of Swift’s security team confirmed Wagner’s persistent communication attempts, leading to a security alert identifying him as a threat.

Swift’s filing also details hundreds of emails allegedly sent by Wagner containing “concerning and threatening language.” He also allegedly attempted to redirect her mail and even fraudulently changed his driver’s license address to Swift’s home. The singer emphasizes she has no prior connection to Wagner and has never communicated with him.

Expressing fear for her safety and that of her family, Swift highlighted the escalating nature of Wagner’s alleged actions. A temporary restraining order protecting Swift, her home, car, and workplace has been granted until a court hearing scheduled for June 30. If the restraining order is made permanent, any violation by Wagner could result in his arrest.

This is not the first time Swift has faced such issues. In recent years, several men have been accused of stalking or harassing the star, including incidents at her New York residence and a 2019 arrest of a man near her Rhode Island home carrying burglary tools.
