Rapper Ye Briefly Shows Support for Diddy at Sex-Trafficking Trial
Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made a brief appearance at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing sex-trafficking trial in Manhattan federal court on Friday. Arriving shortly after 11 a.m., Ye was unable to enter the main courtroom on the 26th floor, reportedly because his name wasn’t on Combs’ list of approved family and friends.
Instead, Ye was directed to an overflow room on the 23rd floor where he watched the proceedings on a screen. He was accompanied by one of Combs’ children, Christian Combs, Ye’s bodyguard, and another Combs supporter. Dressed in all-white denim, Ye listened to approximately 30 minutes of testimony from Jonathan Perez, a former personal assistant to Combs, before departing.
The trial, now in its fifth week, is expected to continue with the prosecution resting its case next week. The jury has heard testimony from several witnesses, including Kid Cudi and Cassie Ventura, both of whom were mentioned during jury selection due to their connections to Combs.
The case also involves testimony from an accuser using the pseudonym Jane, who alleges she attended a sex performance hosted by another prominent, but unnamed, rapper close to Combs. The trial continues to unfold with significant media attention.
