Blake Lively Seeks Protection Against Baldoni’s Team in Ongoing Legal Battle

Actress Blake Lively is requesting a protective order against Justin Baldoni’s legal team, alleging they are demanding access to private communications between Lively and pop star Taylor Swift. This comes after Baldoni’s team subpoenaed, and later withdrew, a request for Swift’s testimony in their legal dispute.

According to court documents, Lively’s lawyer argues that Baldoni’s team is pursuing these communications while simultaneously refusing to provide Lively with documents they claim to possess. The filing suggests this is a tactic to leverage Swift’s fame and fanbase against Lively in the media.

Lively’s spokesperson told us that Baldoni’s team continues to seek access to Swift’s private messages despite claiming they obtained the necessary information when they withdrew the subpoena. The spokesperson further alleges that Baldoni’s team planned to involve Swift in their media strategy as early as August 2024, according to a document from their crisis PR firm. Lively’s camp believes this attempt to involve Swift is a distraction from the dismissal of Baldoni’s lawsuits against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and the New York Times.

In May, after Swift was initially subpoenaed, her representative denied any significant involvement with the 2024 film “It Ends With Us,” stating her only contribution was licensing her song “My Tears Ricochet.” The representative characterized the subpoena as a ploy to exploit Swift’s celebrity for media attention.

The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni is set for trial in March 2026.
