Kate Middleton’s Outfit Honors Princess Diana

Additional Coverage:

Princess Kate honored both Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II with her attire at the 2025 Trooping the Colour, held in London on June 14th. The Princess of Wales’s elegant Catherine Walker aqua blue dress coat and matching Juliette Botterill hat were reminiscent of an outfit worn by Princess Diana at the 1988 Trooping the Colour. Kate further paid tribute to the late Queen by wearing her pearl drop earrings.

Princess Charlotte, Kate’s daughter, coordinated with her mother in a lighter aqua dress with white trim.

Beyond her fashion choices, Kate’s prominent role in the ceremony marked a significant moment. She joined King Charles and Queen Camilla on the dais at Horse Guards Parade, reflecting her position as Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards.

This contrasted with her more subdued presence at the 2024 event, following her cancer diagnosis. She has since announced that she is in remission.

King Charles, also undergoing cancer treatment, rode in a carriage with Queen Camilla. Both wore black armbands to honor the victims of the Air India plane crash.

Other senior royals including Prince William, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward also participated in the parade. Prince William rode on horseback, while Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, rode in a carriage before joining the King and Queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Young Prince Louis charmed the crowds with his enthusiastic waves.

The Trooping the Colour, marking the British sovereign’s official birthday for over 260 years, is a spectacular display of military pageantry, featuring over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians, culminating in an RAF flypast.
