American Idol Star’s Career Takes Off

Additional Coverage:

Louisiana native and American Idol runner-up John Foster is on a roll! Fresh off his Grand Ole Opry debut on June 7, where he performed “Murder On Music Row” and “How Great Thou Art,” the 18-year-old country singer sold out his August 2nd show at The Texas Club in Baton Rouge in under an hour.

Due to popular demand, a second show has been added for August 1st. Both shows at the 1,350-capacity venue are expected to be packed with fans eager to see the rising star.

Even with his burgeoning solo career (his debut single, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” was released via 19 Recordings), Foster remains close with his Idol family. He and third-place finalist Breanna Nix recently reunited at CMA Fest in Nashville, posting a video of themselves performing Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High on That Mountain” with fellow Top 25 finalist Riley O’Neill. The trio’s harmonies were a hit with fans.

Foster and Nix also collaborated on a rendition of Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis’s duet “I Told You So,” hinting at a potential full-length recording of the song in the future. With his impressive performances and strong fanbase, it’s clear that big things are in store for this young artist.
