Honolulu — Family and friends are mourning the loss of actor David Hekili Kenui Bell, who recently appeared in Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Lilo & Stitch.” Bell, 46, passed away on Sunday, according to a Facebook post by his sister, Jolene Kanani Bell. No cause of death was given.

Bell’s sister remembered him as a loving and generous individual, deeply engaged with his family and passionate about acting and voice-over work. She described his excitement over his role as “Big Hawaiian Dude” in “Lilo & Stitch,” noting how he had secured premiere night tickets for the family just two weeks prior.

The family celebrated the film’s release with fans and shaved ice, a memory Jolene now cherishes. She recounted their last moments together, simply talking story and enjoying each other’s company.

Bell’s management agency, Bliss Models and Talent, also released a statement, describing him as an “extraordinary talent” who brought “light, kindness, and a beautiful spirit” to those around him. The agency expressed their condolences to Bell’s family and honored his memory.

In addition to his recent Disney role, Bell appeared in episodes of “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.” He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the entertainment community.
