DoorDash Driver Says She Saw Kohberger at Murder Scene

Additional Coverage:

A potential new eyewitness has come forward in the Idaho student murders case, claiming to have seen suspect Bryan Kohberger at the scene of the crime. The woman, who says she was delivering food for DoorDash to victim Xana Kernodle shortly before the murders, revealed her presence at the scene during a police bodycam recording of a DUI stop in September 2024. This video was later posted online.

The woman’s statement, if corroborated, could significantly impact Kohberger’s upcoming trial. She alleges she “saw Bryan there” and even “parked right next to him.” However, her potential testimony may face scrutiny due to the DUI charge and police allegations of drug use.

This new development comes as the defense explores alternative perpetrator theories. DoorDash was one of many companies from which police sought information during the investigation. Kernodle received a delivery less than 10 minutes before the attack, which occurred around 4 a.m. on November 13, 2022.

The murders claimed the lives of Kernodle, her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, and roommates Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, all University of Idaho students. Each victim suffered multiple stab wounds. A surviving roommate previously described encountering a masked man inside the house, though she was not attacked.

Kohberger, a criminology Ph.D. student at nearby Washington State University, was arrested and charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. He has pleaded not guilty and could face the death penalty if convicted.

Key figures from Kohberger’s past in Pennsylvania have been summoned to Idaho for the trial. The prosecution’s case includes DNA evidence allegedly linking Kohberger to a knife sheath found at the scene, along with cell phone data and vehicle records.
