Catherine, Princess of Wales, was notably absent from the Royal Ascot on Wednesday, June 18th. While an official list initially indicated she would attend Day 2 of the prestigious event alongside her husband, Prince William, a revised version showed the Prince riding with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Saud.
Although the Princess of Wales and Prince William were also absent from the races on Tuesday, King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to make five appearances throughout the week-long event, which concludes on Saturday, June 21st. While Catherine missed the races, her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister-in-law, Alizée Thevenet (wife of James Middleton), were in attendance.
This absence follows Catherine’s cancer battle last year. After announcing her diagnosis in March 2024 and taking a step back from royal duties, the princess made only a few public appearances.
Earlier this year, she announced her remission and expressed gratitude for the support she received during her treatment. Wednesday’s event marks the first the Princess has missed this year as she continues her recovery.
Last month, in a video message, she highlighted nature’s role in her healing process, emphasizing its power to inspire, nurture, and promote resilience.
